The 12th European Women's Water Polo Championship was held in the pools of the Aquatic Center Málaga in Malaga ( Spain ) from July 5 to July 12, 2008 . The winner of the tournament was the Russian team, defended the title of the strongest European team, first won at the 2006 championship in Belgrade .
