About the album
The CD was recorded at Greg Rike Productions in Orlando from February to October 1995 (mixed in Orc Parc Studios), with the participation of sound engineers Darren Schneider and Keith Andrews.
This is the first album featuring Steve Morse . The disc has a more experimental sound than previous albums recorded with the participation of Blackmore . The title of the disc is suggested by Ian Gillan .
Purpendicular was released on February 17, 1996 in Europe (in Russia it went on sale one week before the official release date), and, a little later, in Japan and the USA, and in these two countries the disc included an additional bonus track βDon ' t Hold You Breath β, before which there is 10 seconds of silence.
