Creativity
The poetry of Gintaras Patackas is characterized by a combination of expressive and surrealistic images with ironic intonation, unlikely and shocking stories. In collections after the book Children of Captain Homer ( 1989 ), grotesque and irony are intensified. Criticism discovers in the later books of Patatskas elements of kitsch and pornography , taking his work beyond literature.
The model “bad” mass literature includes the collection of short stories by Patackas “Night with four corpses” ( 1995 ), in which, according to critics, kitsch and pornography dominate. Regarding the last book of poems “The Great Battle of the Hearts”, a reviewer in the literary newspaper of the Writers' Union “Literature ir myanas” ( “ Literatūra ir menas ” ) noted that her themes are the same - wine, blood, tears, and when reading it seems that to rhyme and you can put everything into poetry.
