Kate Allen ( born Kate Allen ; April 25, 1970 , Geelong , Victoria , Australia ) is an Austrian triathlete , champion of the Summer Olympic Games .

Allen was born in Australia on April 25, 1970 and later moved to Austria . She started triathlon in 1996 . Her first major sporting achievements began in 2003 . She won the Austrian championship in Olympic, long and iron distances, and at the stages of the World Cup three times entered the top ten. At the 2003 World Cup, she became 16th.
In 2004, Allen took second place at the European Championships , and then won the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens . For this achievement, she was recognized as the Athlete of the Year of Austria.
After that, Allen won the national championship twice, in 2007 won the silver medals of the European Championship in individual and team standings and took third place at the world cup stage. On June 15, 2008, she qualified for the 2008 Beijing Olympics according to the rating of the International Triathlon Union .
