Sigarevo is a village in the Smolensk region of Russia , in the Elninsky district . The population is 4 inhabitants (2007) [1] . It is located in the southeastern part of the region 26 km southwest of the city of Yelnya , 14 km west of the R137 Safonovo - Roslavl highway. It is part of the Malyshevsky rural settlement.

History
During the Great Patriotic War, the village was the site of fierce fighting and was twice occupied by Nazi troops. The first time in July 1941 (released during the Yelninsk operation ), the second time in October 1941 (released during the Yelninsk-Dorogobuzh operation in 1943 ). It was liberated by the 68th Army [2] [3] [4] .
