The office of the district authorities is located in the very center of Floridsdorf, located around Am Spitz Square, where Prager Straße ( Prague Street) and Brunner Straße ( Brno Street) are connected.
In 2004, the first skyscraper, called the Florido Tower ( de ), was built in Floridsdorf.
The largest shopping center in the area is SCN (Shopping Center Nord).
Various parts of the area, such as Stammersdorf, Strebersdorf or Leopoldau, have historically been former villages.
History
During the February uprising in 1934 , to smash the resistance of the Shutsbund , the Social Democrats , Communists and workers of this area, choking gases were used by government forces [2] .
