In 1820 , he published New Surveys on the Age of Alexander's Death and on the Ptolemaic Chronology ( Fr. Nouvelles recherches sur l'époque de la mort d'Alexandre et sur la chronologie des Ptolémées ), which is a controversy with the chronology proposed in the book of Jacques -Joseph Champollion's “Annals of Lagides” ( French: Annales des Lagides, ou Chronologie des Rois Grecs d'Egypte ; 1819 ). Author of the books “Investigations on the life and deeds of Leon, the last king of Armenians” ( French Recherches sur la vie et les aventures de Léon, dernier roi des Arméniens; 1825 ), "Reflections on the one place in Sallust relative to the Persian origin of the Moors, and many other peoples of the EB ops "( fr. Observations sur un passage de Salluste relatif à l'origine des Maures persane et de plusieurs autres peuples de l'Europe septentrionale; 1828 ).
Member of the Academy of Inscriptions and Fine Literature ( 1820 ). One of the three co-founders of the Asian Society ( Fr. Société asiatique ; 1822 , together with Julius Claprot and Jean Pierre Abel-Remus ), editor-in-chief of his journal Asiatique.
