Biography
Born on October 11, 1967 in the village of Kantyshevo, Chechen-Ingush Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic. Ingush .
He graduated from the Irkutsk Institute of Railway Engineers with a degree in Railway Engineering in 1998, and from St. Petersburg University of the Ministry of Internal Affairs with a degree in Jurisprudence, Ph.D.
He began his career as a carpenter in the construction and installation trust Irkutsklesstroy.
He served in the Soviet Army (1985-1987). He served in the internal troops of Frunze (Bishkek). He resigned as a senior sergeant.
Since 1987 he worked at the Baytog State Farm.

Assassination
On March 14, 2001, he was wounded by two machine gun bullets as a result of an assassination attempt in central Moscow. At the same time, the captain of the police, Yuri Sazonov, was killed as a bodyguard driver. After a couple of months on June 15, the brother of the deputy Temur Kodzoev, who worked as the director of Irkutsk Ceramic Plant LLC, was killed in Irkutsk.
Criminal Cases
In 1996, he was arrested on charges of fraud on a particularly large scale. According to the publication of the newspaper "Today", Kodzoev was convicted of embezzlement of 53 wagons of sugar worth 13 billion rubles. As the same newspaper noted, in the Kodzoyev case, in addition to this, fraud with oil products also appeared. However, the matter did not get to the court: in 1999, while continuing to remain under investigation, Kodzoev ran for the State Duma and was elected, thereby obtaining parliamentary immunity.
According to the magazine "Interlocutor" Bashir Kodzoev is closely associated with the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation Yuri Chaika and his son Artyom.
