Bim bom

Bim ( I. Radunsky ) on the left and Bom ( M. Stanevsky )

Bim-Bom is a Russian and Soviet clown duet of artists Ivan Radunsky (Bim) and Felix Cortesi (Bom). The duet lasted intermittently from 1891 to 1946 with various partners of Radunsky [1] .

Radunsky’s partners at different times were: F. Cortesi (1891–1898), M. A. Stanevsky (1901–1920), N. I. Viltzak (1926–1936), A. P. Kamsky (1936–1946) [2 ] .

The artists adopted the pseudonyms Bim and Bom in 1891 . Their numbers consisted of topical comedy dialogues and comic scenes, interspersed with playing musical eccentric instruments. Both popular folk melodies and the music of the classical repertoire were performed. During the performance, musical acrobatic tricks were performed: without stopping playing the musical instrument, the artists climbed onto each other's shoulders, rolled over their backs, performed acrobatic jumps [1] .

Bim-Bom took up the position of premieres in the St. Petersburg circus G. Ciniselli , the Moscow circus A. Salamonsky and other circuses [1] .

The duo toured in Paris , Berlin , Prague , Budapest .

The duet with its success caused a wave of imitators: Bib-Bob , Rome-Rum and others. [2]
