Norma (football club)

Norma is an Estonian club from Tallinn , disbanded in the 1996/1997 season. In 1992, Norma Tallinn became the first champion of the Estonian championship after the collapse of the USSR . In 1993, Norma defended the league title. Norma also became the owner of the Estonian Cup in 1994 . In 1995, the club left the first division. A year later, the team left the second Estonian division, hitting the third. And in 1997, the club ceased to exist.

History

Founded in 1959, Norma from Tallinn was one of the largest football clubs in the Estonian SSR . The club participated in 32 championships of the Estonian SSR (more than any other team), won the champion title five times, and also became the holder of the Estonian SSR Cup six times.

After Estonia gained independence from the USSR, Norma began playing in the Estonian Estonian Championship (Meistriliiga) since 1991 . Along with its rival Lantana from Tallinn, the club was very popular among ethnic Russian minorities in Estonia. Norma won the first two Estonian championships.
