The city is located 48 km west of the capital of Chile , Santiago .

- in the east - with the commune of Lampa and the province of Santiago
- in the southeast - with the municipality of Padre Hurtado
- in the south - with the commune of Melipiglia
- in the south-west - with the commune of Maria Pinto
