The city is located 41 km south of the capital of Chile , Santiago .
The commune borders:
- in the north - with the communes of Isla de Maypo , Buin
- in the northeast - with the commune of Pirke
- in the south - with the communes of Mostasal , Alué
- in the west - with the commune of Melipiglia
