Anatoly Vasilievich Ivanov ( June 26, 1934 , Leningrad - April 2, 2012 , Vienna ) - Russian soloist-timpani and composer . People's Artist of the Russian Federation (1997) [1] . President of the Russian Association of Percussion Performers, member of the International Association of Percussionists, conductor , member of the Russian Authors Society. He taught at the Leningrad Conservatory .

Biography

Received a musical education in Leningrad :

  • The music school at the Leningrad Conservatory in two specialties (piano and percussion instruments).
  • In 1957 he graduated from the Leningrad Conservatory class A. I. Sobolev and B. E. Osadchuk
  • Since 1952 he worked in orchestras: Russian folk orchestra, jazz orchestra.
  • Since 1964 , he worked as a soloist - timpani in the ZKR Academic Symphony Orchestra of the Leningrad Philharmonic named after D. D. Shostakovich under the direction of Evgeny Mravinsky and Yuri Temirkanov , where he was the accompanist of the percussion group.
  • Since the 1960s Ivanov is developing a program for organizing an ensemble of percussion instruments, he owns the methodological work “Play in an ensemble of percussion instruments!” ( 1996 ).
  • In 1989 , Ivanov organized the ensemble “Vivat, Percussion!” From his students at the St. Petersburg Conservatory, who actively performed in the 1990s. with the works of Ivanov himself and the processing of classical music.
  • In 1991 , the ensemble became a laureate of the International Competition in the Netherlands.

Proceedings

Among Ivanov’s works are plays for the Russian folk orchestra, jazz orchestra, percussion ensemble, for vibraphone , xylophone , celesta , flute , piano and orchestra , timpani , tubal ensemble, seven pieces for timpani and piano, etc. Ivanov owns the transcription of “Children's album » P. I. Tchaikovsky for the ensemble of percussion instruments ( 1995 ).

In 2004, Ivanov’s book, “A Look from the Orchestra” (about working with Evgeny Mravinsky ) ISBN 5-9268-0295-4 was published.

Among the students of Ivanov are Honored Artists of Russia Andrei Khotin and Alexander Mikhailov .
