Lorein [1] (born Lorain) - a city in the district of Lorraine , Ohio , USA . Located west of Cleveland , on the shores of Lake Erie . The Ford Motor Company factory is located in the city, which ceased production on December 14, 2005.

According to the US Census Bureau, Lorraine has an area of 62.8 square kilometers, of which 62.2 km² is land, and 0.6 km² (0.95%) is water.

In 2010, 64,097 people lived in the city (of which 47.5% were men and 52.5% were women), there were 25,529 households and 16,368 families. On the territory of the city there were 29,144 buildings with an average density of 475.4 buildings per square kilometer of land. Racial composition : white - 67.9%, Native Americans - 0.5%, African Americans - 17.6% [2] .
The population of the city by age range according to the 2010 census was as follows: 26.7% - residents under 18 years of age, 4.1% - from 18 to 21 years old, 55.3% - from 21 to 65 years old and 13.9% - at the age of 65 years and older. The average age of the population is 36.8 years. For every 100 females in Lorraine, 90.5 males are accounted for, while for 100 adult females there are already 86.6 males of comparable age [2] .
Of the 25,529 households, 64.1% were families: 37.1% of couples living together (13.5% with children under the age of 18); 21.0% are women living without husbands, 6.1% are men living without wives. 35.9% did not have a family. On average, 2.48 people conduct households, and the average family size is 3.09 people. 30.8% of the population lived alone, 11.5% were single elderly people (over 65) [2] .
Economics
In 2015, out of 49,249 people over 16 years old, 25,513 had jobs. In 2014, the average income for a family was estimated at $ 42,702, for a household - at $ 35,042. The per capita income is $ 18,921 a year, with men having a median income of $ 40,347 a year, compared to $ 30,574 of the average annual income for women. [2] .
