Alan Ansen ( January 23, 1922 - November 12, 2006 ) - American poet , playwright , representative of the beat generation [1] [2] .

Biography
Ansen was born on Long Island and studied at Harvard University , knew many languages. In 1948 - 1949 he worked as secretary and research assistant at Wisten Hugh Auden . Later, he became a close friend of poets and writers of the beat generation and became the prototype of many characters of their works, including Rollo Greba from “ On the Road ” by Jack Kerouac , AJ from “ Naked Breakfast ” by William Burroughs and others.
Beginning in the late 1960s, Ansen lived mainly in Athens , where he revolved with writers such as James Merrill and Chester Callman .
