The medal “For Valor in the Service” is the departmental medal of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation , established by order of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation No. 50 of January 24, 2001 .

Award Rules
According to the Regulation, the medal “For Valor in Service” is awarded to employees of the internal affairs bodies of the Russian Federation :
- for excellent performance in operational activities;
- for active work in the maintenance of public order and the fight against crime;
- for courage, dedication and other merits shown during the service in the internal affairs bodies.
Medal Description
The medal has the shape of a circle of golden color with a diameter of 32 mm, with a convex side on the back. On the front side there is an image of a heraldic badge - the emblem of the internal affairs bodies of the Russian Federation and internal troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation. Around the emblem along the edge of the coin is laid out a solid laurel wreath , entwined with a ribbon at the top. Inscriptions are placed on the back of the medal - horizontally in the center in three lines: “For valor in service” with a laurel branch and “Ministry of the Interior of the Russian Federation” on the upper and lower edges. All images and inscriptions are convex.
The medal is attached by means of an eyelet and a ringlet to a pentagonal block, covered with a moire ribbon of blue color. 1 mm from the edge of the tape applied stripes of red in 1 mm. The width of the tape is 24 mm.
