A change house is the colloquial name of a temporary auxiliary building used for domestic needs at enterprises, construction sites, summer cottages as temporary housing, for storing tools and equipment. In addition to the "change house", in colloquial Russian, you can find many similar names for household premises used in various places in Russia, for example: a car-house, beams, a movement, a hut, etc.
In the explanatory dictionary of S. I. Ozhegov and N. Yu. Shvedova we read:
- "Change house", and, well. (decomp.). At enterprises, construction sites, farms: utility room for domestic self-service of workers.
- "Beam" - in the north: a temporary housing-house, installed on runners .
- "Movement" is a mobile, active, functioning, not in one place, not stationary, cultural and educational or other institution.
- “Barak” is a lightweight building designed for temporary housing.
Turning to the Great Soviet Encyclopedia, we find a detailed description of household premises (change houses) and auxiliary buildings and premises that are used to equip the employees' everyday life in enterprises, such as sanitary facilities, heating rooms, storage of materials, food for workers, medical and cultural services for employees , for placement of administrative, economic and technical services.
Basically, auxiliary temporary domestic premises (cabins) are made as small mobile (relocated) buildings of container type or collapsible type up to 2 floors. The basis for the construction of mobile buildings are block containers (volumetric elements of full factory readiness).
The design, parameters and terms of temporary auxiliary household premises (cabins) used for the needs of construction, as well as internal engineering communications of mobile buildings are regulated by: 1. GOST 22853-86 Mobile buildings (inventory). General specifications. 2. GOST 25957-83 Buildings and structures mobile (inventory). Classification of terms and definitions. 3. GOST 23274-84 Mobile buildings (inventory). Electrical installations. 4. GOST 23345-84 Mobile buildings (inventory). Sanitary systems. As well as other GOSTs and SNiPs.
Construction cabins are used for temporary stay of workers at construction sites . They are intended for rest, eating, changing clothes, as well as temporary residence in general, when it comes to geographically remote objects.
For domestic needs, wooden panel houses of a shield type, often used by summer residents at the beginning of the development of a summer cottage area, where there is still no capital housing, are widespread. Wooden cabins differ from mobile buildings from block containers with a shorter service life, but they are cheaper.
