History

The club was created by the producer of Swarovski crystals from Wacker players (in 1971, the Swarovski team from Wattens was joined to Wacker). At the end of the 1985–86 season, the Wacker Bundesliga license was transferred to Swarovski-Tirol. Under the leadership of Ernst Happel, the team won the Austrian Championship in 1989 and 1990 and won the Austrian Cup in 1989. However, in 1992 the team was disbanded, and its license was returned to Wacker, which a year later transferred it to the newly formed club Tirol-Innsbruck .
