“Ambeon” is a music project of the Dutch musician Arjen Anthony Lucassen in the style of progressive metal . Initially, the albums were conceived as instrumental, based on the riffs and tunes of the Lucressen group Ayreon . The name is composed of the words " ambient " and " Ayreon ".

While recording compositions, Lucassen received a demo of 14-year-old Astrid van der Veen ( Dutch Astrid van der Veen , February 26, 1986 ). He liked the voice of the young singer and he invited her to participate in the project, including as a songwriter.
