May Petrovich Miturich-Khlebnikov ( May 29, 1925 , Moscow - June 30, 2008 , ibid.) - Soviet artist , People's Artist of the RSFSR ( 1986 ), laureate of the State Prize of the Russian Federation (1993), full member of the USSR Academy of Arts (1991).

Biography
Born in Moscow on May 29, 1925 in the family of artists Vera Khlebnikova and Peter Miturich .
In November 1942 he went to war and reached Berlin . He worked in the front-line brigade of artists with such masters as Anatoly Nikich, Boris Popov, Eugene Rachava. [one]
In 1948 he entered the correspondence department of the Moscow Polygraphic Institute , graduated in 1953 . For many years he taught at this institute [2] .
Fulfilling the request of his father, Miturich found near Novgorod the abandoned grave of Velimir Khlebnikov and transported the remains of the poet to Moscow [3] .
1993 State Prize of the Russian Federation for murals of the Paleontological Museum of the Russian Academy of Sciences Yu. A. Orlova .
For the same work in 1987 - a silver medal of the USSR Academy of Arts.
Silver medal and diploma of the International Book Art Exhibition in Leipzig (IBA-65) in 1965 for illustration to S. Marshak ’s book “Poems for Children”.
Silver medal and diploma of the International Biennale of illustrations for a children's book in Bratislava (BIB-67) in 1967 for illustration to the book of K. I. Chukovsky “ The Stolen Sun ”.
In 2005 he was awarded the Japanese Order of the Rising Sun.
Laureate of the “Book Man” Prize (2004) Among the main works, in addition to illustrations to books: K. Chukovsky's “ Barmaley ” (1968), K. Chukovsky's “ Cockroach ” (1970), “ Fly-Tsokotuha ” (1986), С Marshak's “Poems for Children” (1971), S. Mikhalkov “The Fox, the Beaver, etc.” (1975), R. Kipling “ Mowgli ” (1976), S. Aksakova “The Scarlet Flower ” (1985), S. Marshak ABC (1984), Twelve Months. Smart things ”(1987), V. Bianchi “ Red Hill ”(1986), R. Kipling“ The cat that walked by itself ”(1989).
M.P. Miturich-Khlebnikov is the author of numerous watercolors: Moscow Region Winter (1991), Birch Trees (1992), Hokkaido. Seaside "(1999)," Century Olive "(1997); prints, series of drawings, as well as paintings - “Irises and Daisies” (1967), “Under the Oak” (1969), “Self Portrait” (1990), “Spring Birches” (1992), “In the Workshop” (1996) , “Olive Grove” (1997), “Greek Coast” (1997), “Temple of Athaea. Aegina island. Greece "(1998)," Greece. Ancient Oliva ”(1997),“ Valley on Zakinor Island ”(1997).
He died on June 30, 2008, was buried in the Novodevichy cemetery. [four]
