Miturich-Khlebnikov, May Petrovich

Born in Moscow on May 29, 1925 in the family of artists Vera Khlebnikova and Peter Miturich .

In November 1942 he went to war and reached Berlin . He worked in the front-line brigade of artists with such masters as Anatoly Nikich, Boris Popov, Eugene Rachava. ^[one]

In 1948 he entered the correspondence department of the Moscow Polygraphic Institute , graduated in 1953 . For many years he taught at this institute ^[2] .

Fulfilling the request of his father, Miturich found near Novgorod the abandoned grave of Velimir Khlebnikov and transported the remains of the poet to Moscow ^[3] .

1993 State Prize of the Russian Federation for murals of the Paleontological Museum of the Russian Academy of Sciences Yu. A. Orlova .

For the same work in 1987 - a silver medal of the USSR Academy of Arts.

Silver medal and diploma of the International Book Art Exhibition in Leipzig (IBA-65) in 1965 for illustration to S. Marshak ’s book “Poems for Children”.

Silver medal and diploma of the International Biennale of illustrations for a children's book in Bratislava (BIB-67) in 1967 for illustration to the book of K. I. Chukovsky “ The Stolen Sun ”.

In 2005 he was awarded the Japanese Order of the Rising Sun.
