Al-Audja , or Uja ( Arabic: العوجا ) is a village in Salah al-Din governorate, 13 km south of Tikrit , on the western bank of the Tigris River.

History
The President of Iraq in 1979-2003, Saddam Hussein ( April 28, 1937 ), as well as the governors of many provinces of the state who were in the service while he was in power, were born in Al-Audja.
On December 13, 2003, during Operation US soldiers discovered him a few kilometers from his hometown in the city of Al-Daur . After no more than 24 hours from the moment of his execution for crimes against humanity until dawn on December 31, 2006, he was buried in a village cemetery, a few hundred meters from the graves of his sons [1] . On March 15, 2015, during the , the grave of Saddam Hussein was destroyed. After the liberation of Al-Audji on March 16 by the Iraqi forces, a unit of the Kurdish militia, which is part of the Popular Mobilization Force , under the command of Major General Kassem Suleimani hoisted a flag with Shiite symbols over the village [3] .
