Association
At the beginning of 2009, a decision was made to unite the two Daugavpils teams - Dinaburg and Daugava . The name of the united team is “Dinaburg”, President Oleg Gavrilov also worked in “Dinaburg” in previous years, and the Daugava players, headed by head coach Igor Gamula, made up the team . After the 2nd round of the championship, Gamula was dismissed, and Tamaz Pertia , who trained Dinaburg in 2007-2008, took his place.
Disqualification
On October 5, 2009, by the decision of the LFF board, the club was expelled from the Latvian championship, and President Oleg Gavrilov and head coach Tamaz Pertia were disqualified from Latvian football for life. The official statement said that “the team’s representatives, despite repeated warnings and disqualification from the Baltic League in 2007, participated in a totalizator for a long period of time, manipulated the results of the games, which is confirmed by conclusive evidence obtained from competent organizations, including UEFA " [1] [2] . Gavrilov denied the charges [3] . On June 2, 2010, the LFF Disciplinary Commission canceled Perth’s lifelong disqualification by applying for suspended probation until July 1, 2011 [4] [5]
In 2010, the reconstructed Daugava took the place of Dinaburg in the Latvian league, its playing structure has changed slightly.
