Content
History
LASK Sports Society was formed in 1899 . The football club itself was registered in 1919 .
In 1924, LASK achieved the first victory in its history - the team became the champion of the amateur league.
In 1939, LASK received professional status.
In 1965, “black and white” for the only time so far have become Austrian champions. In the same year, the players from Linz became the owners of the Austrian Cup .
In the 1970s, LASK flew to the first league, then returned to the Austrian Bundesliga.
In 1995, the club was on the verge of bankruptcy, but Michael Reichel saved the team from dissolution, who became the team’s sponsor, and later the club’s president. During this difficult period, LASK played in the lower divisions of Austria.
In 1997, the Linz football club, which had ceased to exist, became part of LASK.
In 2007 , after a seven-year absence, LASK returned to the Bundesliga. That season, the team finished sixth and managed to gain a foothold in the Austrian Premier League. [2]
