Biography
Takashi Miike was born on August 24, 1960 in Yao , Osaka Prefecture ( Japan ). He graduated from the Yokohama Academy of Cinema and Television. He began working in the cinema under the leadership of Shokhey Imamura (assisted in the 1989 film " Black Rain ").
Miike made his debut in the "big" movie in 1995 with the movie " The War of the Chinese Mafia ."
In 2003, the film " Godzu " was presented at the Cannes Film Festival in the official program "Special Look" as the first film released only on video , and not in wide distribution .
In 2008, the filmography of Miike as a director totals 78 films and television series, in 15 he took part as an actor (mostly episodic roles), in one of his films (“Family”, 2001 ) acted as an operator , wrote scripts for three films.
