Channel One and producer Natalya Nikonova positioned this program as talk shows , although the project could also be called author’s [5] .

Transmission Structure

The name is a merger of the name of the host of the transfer of Alexander Gordon with the hero of the novel by Cervantes - Don Quixote , who, as you know, also fought with windmills . The purpose of the program: the fight against “windmills” - annoying mirages and images in the media [6] , books and in the surrounding reality.

«Must probably explain. And I will start with a deep youth, when each of us acquires some ideals and begins to understand what is good and what is bad. And with youthful enthusiasm he rushes to defend these ideals, raising their banner high. But life is a tricky thing and is designed so that sooner or later it begins to whisper to us compromises. Some time passes, and one gloomy evening at a cloudy age, you begin to understand that your ideals are blown away, your spear is broken, your banner is a rag ... And burning shame embraces you: how did this happen to me ?! And now, looking around, you see that in many ways and because of you, life has changed. You give yourself the word to go to battle, even if a previously lost battle [7] .

In the center of the program: the struggle of A. Gordon with his guest [8] . The hall is divided into two camps [9] . Each participant from one camp can fight with the participant of another: for this, you need to go to the center of the hall to the table [9] .

Most often, the guests of the program were people who, in the opinion of A. Gordon (he emphasizes that everything that he defends is his subjective point of view), caused or could harm the public consciousness and the people around, whose actions cause public resonance [9 ] , and sometimes whole phenomena [10] . The latest release of the program was released on July 30, 2010.

Program Guests

The television premiere took place in the midst of the "dead season" [11] . However, Channel One has repeatedly relied on this time (in 2007, the Fashionable Sentence started at the same time). The guest of the first program was the author of the infamous novels “ Duhless. The Story of a Fake Man "and" The Chicks. A Tale of Fake Love ”by Sergey Minaev [12] . Among the guests of the program were entrepreneurs ( Sergey Mavrodi [13] ), politicians ( Vladimir Zhirinovsky ), musicians ( Mikhail Shufutinsky , Mikhail Turetsky ), comedians ( Mikhail Zadornov , residents of Comedy Club ) and other famous people.

In 2009, the Gordon Quixote program underwent major changes, the most important of which were the “windmills” that Alexander Gordon fights against, not just individuals, their words and deeds “falling under the gun”, but whole phenomena [14] .
