Andreas Ivanschits was born in a family of Gradische Croats , compactly living in Burgenland . He began to play football in the local team " Baumgarten ", where he spent a total of 9 years (1989-1998). Then scouts of the capital club " Rapid " noticed his talent and in 1998 Ivanschitz concluded his first professional contract with the champions of Austria. He was only 16 years old when he first entered the field in a Rapid T-shirt - in a cup match against Ranshofen on October 26, 1999. In the Austrian Bundesliga, Ivanschitz made his debut in 2000, in a match with Salzburg . In subsequent years, in 177 matches for the Vienna club, he scored 27 goals, won the championship title in the 2004/05 season . In January 2006, the footballer moved to Red Bull from Salzburg , but stayed there for only half of the season - in August he went on loan to one of the leading Greek clubs, the Athenian Panathinaikos . At the end of the lease term, on June 20, 2008, Ivanschitz agreed to sign a new permanent agreement with Panathinaikos. In August 2009, he moved to the German Bundesliga club “Mainz 05”, first on loan, and in 2011, the rights to Ivanschitz were redeemed by “Mainz” in full.

June 10, 2013 Ivanschitz moved to the Spanish " Levant " [1] . June 11, 2015 left the "Levante". The parties agreed to terminate the agreement.

On August 4, 2015, Ivanschitz was signed by the MLS Seattle Sounders Club [2] .

In January 2017, he moved to the Czech club Victoria Plzen , signing a contract until the summer of 2018 [3] .
