“If the Walls Could Talk ” ( If These Walls Could Talk ) is a film consisting of three short stories and the story of three women who lived at the same time in the same house and faced the problem of abortion . Story
1952
The story of the widowed nurse Claire Donnelly ( Demi Moore ), who lives in a suburb of Chicago . She accidentally became pregnant from her brother-in-law and decides to have an abortion so as not to injure the family of her late husband. But abortion at that time was prohibited and Claire for a long time could not find a way to conduct it. In the hospital where she works, her colleague gives her the phone of a woman she knows, who in turn displays Claire to a person who can help her. Claire has an abortion, but due to the fact that he is done poorly, she bleeds. Bleeding, she calls an ambulance, but falls, unable to give her address.
1974
The story of an aging mother of four children Barbara Barrows ( Sissy Spacek ), who, only returning to work in college and starting to write a dissertation finds that she is pregnant. Barbara understands that if she gives birth, it will be a difficulty for her family: she will have to leave her dissertation and college, her husband’s desire to retire will be a thing of the past, and her daughter will be forced to stop studying at an expensive and prestigious school. But supported by her husband and daughter, Barbara does not decide on an abortion and is ready for new difficulties associated with the birth of a fifth child.
1996
The story is about Christine Cullen ( Anne Heche ), a young student who became pregnant from her professor. He, in turn, is ready to give Christine money to hush up the situation, and then she decides to have an abortion. Kristin arrives at the clinic, but protesters nearby representatives of the Christian organization contribute to the fact that Christine, unsure of the correctness of her decision, goes home. But after a couple of days, thinking it over again, she returns to the clinic. At this time, one of the Christian organizations staged a large picket against abortion. Kristin manages to get into the clinic and Dr. Bet Thompson ( Cher ) makes her an operation. But suddenly one of the protesters bursts into the office with a gun and shoots the doctor.
