Kalmar ( Swedish: Kalmar Fotbollförening ) is a Swedish football club from the city of the same name . It was founded on October 1, 1910 . Champion of Sweden 2008, three-time winner of the Swedish Cup . Currently playing in the top division of the championship of Sweden - Allsvenskan .

Content
History
The club was established on October 1, 1910 under the name Goethe ( IF Göta ). In 1912, the team was renamed and began to bear the name "Gothia" ( Gothia ) and under this name was officially registered. In 1918, Gothia teamed up with the Kamraterna club to form the Kalmar Idrottssällskap club , which has its current name in 1927 - Kalmar Fotbollförening , or simply Kalmar, by the name of the city in which it is located.
The principal rivals of the club are the players of the Esther club from Veksjo , as well as fellow countrymen from the AIK Kalmar team.
The club started three times in the Cup Winners' Cup , and twice in the UEFA Cup , but only once did it manage to go beyond the first stage - in the 1987/88 season the team defeated the Icelandic Acranes and then lost to the Lisbon Sporting . In 2006, the club participated in the Intertoto Cup and managed to reach the third round, losing in the end to the Dutch Twente .
Having taken the second place in the championship in the 2007 season , the team repeated the highest achievement in the history of their performances in the national league. In addition, Kalmar won the Swedish Cup three times, including in the 2007 draw, which gave the club the right to represent Sweden in the next UEFA Cup draw.
In the 2008 season, for the first time in his history, he became the champion of Sweden, and also reached the finals of the Swedish Cup, where in the penalty shoot-out he lost to Gothenburg . In the UEFA Cup 2008/2009 , the Luxembourg Racing and the Belgian Gent “passed”, but in the first round by the goal of the away goal they lost to the Dutch Feyenoord .
