The Union is a former Soviet Antarctic station .
The Union was opened as a field base on December 3, 1982 on the shores of Lake Bieber . [1] The station was located at an altitude of 336 m, 260 km from the Gulf of Pruds and was intended for research in the mountains of Prince Charles .
Meteorological observations at the station were carried out irregularly. The average January temperature is −3.1 ° C. [2]
Soyuz station was closed on February 28, 1989 . Since 2007, it was planned to resume some work at the station, [3] however the plans were not implemented.
