Rename history
Known since 1892 as Sambursky Lane. The name is given according to the Samburg Square that existed here (built up after 1851 ). The square, in turn, is named after the distorted surname of the homeowner ( Shpalernaya Street , 18), Archpriest A. A. Samborsky , confessor and teacher of Emperor Alexander I. On December 15, 1952, it was renamed to Krichevsky Pereulok in the town of Krichev (Mogilyov Region, Belarus) in a series of passages, named in memory of the liberation of Soviet cities during the Great Patriotic War.
