55th Guards Rifle Irkutsk-Pinsk, Order of Lenin, three times the Red Banner, Order of Suvorov, II Class Division named after the Supreme Soviet of the RSFSR
History
Formed on 12/18/1942 by transforming the 30th Infantry Regiment of Irkutsk, the Order of Lenin, the three-fold Red Banner Division named after the Supreme Soviet of the RSFSR .
In the army from 12/18/1942 to 04/21/1944, from 05/28/1944 to 09/14/1944, from 10/13/1944 to 03/31/1945, from 04/20/1945 to 11/05/1945.
She took part in the liberation of the North Caucasus and the Taman Peninsula . On January 18, 1943, the 55th Guards Rifle Division (commander - guards, Major General B.N. Arshintsev) liberated settlements of the Adygei Autonomous Region of the Krasnodar Territory Krasnoarmeysky , Novy, Konsulov , Novo-Mogilevsky ), and on February 11, Worker released, and State Farm Otradny, February 12, Supovskiy [1] and Novy Sad, together with the 32nd Guards Rifle Division (commander - Guards Major General M. F. Tikhonov) [2] .
In November 1943, he took part in the Kerch-Eltigen landing operation , disembarking in the Opasnaya region, Enikale , fighting in the Kerch Peninsula until April 1944, then taking part in the Belarusian strategic operation , participating in the liberation of the Ivanovo and Luninets districts of the Brest region , Pinsk and Logishinsky district of the Pinsk region , eastern regions of Poland, in the East Prussia , Berlin and Prague offensive operations .
Participated in the liberation of cities: Novorossiysk , Hot Key, Kerch , Pinsk , the capture of Gumbinnen , Berlin.
After the war
In May - August 1945, the 55th Guards Rifle Division, as part of the 20th Infantry Corps of the 28th Army, marched from Czechoslovakia and Germany and concentrated at a permanent station in the Baranovichi military district in the city of Grodno.
Directive of the Commander-in-Chief of the Ground Forces No. Osh / 1/243666 of March 12, 1957 and Directive of the Commander of the BVO No. 03/00565 of April 19, 1957, the 55th Guards Rifle Division was reformed into the 55th Guards Motorized Rifle Division. [3] .
By order of the USSR Minister of Defense No. 00147 of November 17, 1964, in order to preserve the fighting traditions of the 55th Guards Motorized Rifle Division, its former military number was restored - 30 - and it became known as the 30th Guards Motorized Rifle Irkutsk-Pinskaya, Order of Lenin, three times the Red Banner, Order of Suvorov division named after the Supreme Soviet of the RSFSR.
Directive of the USSR Minister of Defense No. Org / 1/126386 of October 18, 1968 and Directive of the Commander-in-Chief of the Ground Forces Org / 1/1165800 of October 19, 1968. The 30th Guards Motorized Rifle Division was expelled from the 28th Army of the Belarusian Military District and transferred in the composition of the Central Group of Forces in full force (headquarters in Zvolen , Central Slovakia).
February 26, 1990 in Moscow, an agreement was signed on the complete withdrawal of Soviet troops from the CSFR . The last echelons of the 30th Guards Motorized Rifle Division left the Czechoslovak Federal Republic in December 1990. The division was stationed in the cities of Maryina Gorka, Slutsk and in the village of Urechye of the Minsk Region of the Byelorussian SSR.
In 1992, the division became part of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus, where it was reorganized into a separate mechanized brigade of the Guards and the BHWT Guards.
Since 2005, the successor is the 30th Guards Separate Mechanized Battalion as part of the 19th Guards Separate Mechanized Brigade. Orders and honorary titles of the division transferred to the 30th Guards. OMBAT.
