Deimos ( dr. Greek Δεῖμος , “confusion, horror”) - in ancient Greek mythology, one of the sons of Ares and Aphrodite [1] , personification of horror. He, his brother Phobos , the goddess of contention Eris and the goddess Enio accompany Ares in the battles [2] .

Asaf Hall , who discovered the satellites of Mars in 1877 , named them after Deimos and Phobos.
