Chill casting

Kokil ( fr. Coquille , English chill mold ) - a folding mold for molding . Usually made of metal and can withstand from 100 to 10,000 fillings.

They can be made without a connector, with one or several connectors used for casting repeatedly.

Castings made of cast iron, steel, copper, brass, aluminum, magnesium and other alloys are obtained in chill molds. The wall thickness of the obtained castings is about 3 mm, 12-14 quality accuracy and weight up to 1000 kg.

It is widely used in serial production in metallurgy, in particular, the main aluminum ICE components are manufactured by chill casting - pistons, cylinder blocks, heads, etc.
