Biography
Konstantin Chetverikov was born on June 24, 1902 in Moscow. The famous theater director Konstantin Stanislavsky was his cousin. In the early 1920s, Chetverikov arrived in Berlin and began working at the UFA studio as an assistant operator. With Gunter Rittau , a specialist in stunt shooting, he shot models for Fritz Lang 's films Metropolis (the city of the future) and Woman on the Moon (launch pad). After adoption, he received the name Irmen-Chet, under whom he worked for some time.
In 1928, along with Gunther, Rittau was the second cameraman on the movie " Return " by Joe May . With the advent of sound in the cinema, together with Rittau or Otto Becker, Chet made major entertaining films by Hanns Schwartz , Robert Sjodmak , Karl Hartl and Reinhold Schunzel . The five films Chet made in 1933-1934 with the director Hans Steinhoff include one of the first propaganda paintings of the Nazi period β Quex from the Hitler Youth β. In addition to stunt shooting and special effects, until 1945 Chet shot a number of entertaining films by Paul Martin , Herbert Meisch and Georg Jacobi .
