Heinrich Botel ( German: Heinrich Botel , died at the Battle of Durb on July 13, 1260 ) was a knight of the Teutonic Order , vice-landmaster of Prussia in 1252-1253 [1] , at the same time - Marshal of the Teutonic Order (from 1244/46 to 1260). On February 7, 1249, on behalf of the Order concludes a second peace treaty with the Prussian tribes of Natangs, Varmas and Pomezans [2] . In 1260, he led, together with Burkhard von Hornhausen , the master of the Livonian Order, a campaign in Lithuania , which ended in a battle of knights with the Zhamaiti troops at Durb . The crusaders suffered a crushing defeat, killed 150 knights, including the Marshal of the Order.
