Distribution

Described from the Kulusutaev post near Lake Zun-Torey (Torey-Nur) in the South-East Transbaikalia . The range in Russia included Transbaikalia, South Yakutia , Amur Region and Primorye ; outside the borders of Russia it is distributed in the eastern part of Mongolia and in Northeast China . The eastern boundary of the distribution of the subspecies continues to be poorly studied. The habitat of the Transbaikal solonghoy is reliably known in several areas remote from each other. In the interfluve of Zeya and Amur and in the south of the Zeya-Bureya plain, there is the largest isolated site of the solonghoy. His most frequent encounters were noted in the foothills of the Yankan, Iltivus, Petrovsky and Urushansky ranges, on the southern spurs of Stanovoy and Tukuringra. Two other sections are located one on the right bank of the Ussuri River from its mouth and Khabarovsk to the north, to the mouth of the Bikin River in the south, the other on the steppe sections of the Prikhankaiskaya Plain and the Sinem Ridge. It is possible that the solonghoy inhabits the Black Mountains of Southern Primorye in the Nadezhda district .

Habitat

The biology of the solongoi of the Far Eastern population is poorly studied, but, apparently, does not differ from that of the species as a whole. Prefers steppe and forest-steppe lands. It feeds on small mouse-like rodents and birds. Gon from January to April, pregnancy 30-40 days, in a brood of 1-8 cubs.

Strength

There are no specific data on the state of the Far Eastern population and the abundance of the Transbaikal solonoy. In the Khabarovsk Territory (Obluchensky and Birobidzhan districts) there are known territories with a fairly significant density of solonoy, in other areas in the 70-80s there were isolated meetings. The state of abundance of solongoy can be judged only by indirect data. Until the 50s, it was a common commercial species, but then its number began to decline sharply. Thus, its production in the Amur Region decreased from 3000 in 1950 to 600-800 animals in the 60s, and at the end of the 80s amounted to no more than several tens per year. The main factor causing the decrease in the number of salt marshes is the violation of natural biotopes and the use of its indigenous habitats for agricultural land.

Security

To protect the Transbaikal solonghoy, it is necessary first of all to study the modern distribution and its abundance in the Far East in order to identify places of concentration of animals and organize wildlife sanctuaries in such areas. The distribution boundary of the Transbaikal solonghoy in the east needs to be clarified. Local experts, regional nature protection bodies and nature reserves of the Far East could join this work. In the Far East, there is a whole network of nature reserves and wildlife sanctuaries in whose territory the habitat of solonoy is possible: nature reserves Khingansky , Bolshekhekhtsirsky , Sikhote-Alinsky , Ussuriysky , Lazovsky , Kedrovaya Pad , Khankaysky , Norsky ; the reserves Khingan-Arkharinsky, Badzhalsky, Khekhtsir, Tumninsky, Oldzhikansky, Barsovy.
