Biography
He was born on September 2, 1960 in the village of Nesterovtsy of the Dunaevets district of the Khmelnitsky region of Ukraine into an Orthodox peasant family.
From 1967 to 1977 he studied at the Nesterovetsky secondary school. From 1978 to 1980 he was in active military service in the Soviet Army .
In 1981 he entered, and in 1985 graduated from the Moscow Theological Seminary with a bachelor of theology. In the same year he entered the Moscow Theological Academy .
On March 8, 1987, he was tonsured a monk by the MDAiS inspector, Archimandrite George , named Leonid , in honor of the Monk Leonid Ustnedumsky .
On March 20, 1987, he was ordained a hierodeacon by Archbishop Alexander of Dmitri , rector of the MDAiS, and on July 12, 1987, he was ordained a hieromonk.
In 1989 he graduated from the full course of the Moscow Theological Academy and was approved as an assistant inspector and teacher of the regency school at the MDA.
In 1990, he was appointed senior assistant to the inspector and teacher of the newly opened Minsk Theological Seminary .
On September 1, 1992, he was elevated to the rank of hegumen by Metropolitan of Minsk and Slutsk Filaret , and was appointed inspector of the Minsk Theological Seminary.
On June 14, 1996, he was elevated to the rank of Archimandrite by Metropolitan of Minsk and Slutsk Filaret, Patriarchal Exarch of All Belarus.
By the decision of the Synod of the Belarusian Orthodox Church of August 3, 1996 he was appointed rector of the Minsk Theological Seminary .
In 1997, by a resolution of the Council of the Moscow Theological Academy and Seminary for a dissertation on the topic " Shepherding in the Russian Orthodox Church in the XIV-XV centuries. "Was awarded the degree of candidate of theology.
By the decision of the Synod of the Belarusian Orthodox Church of December 14, 1997 and the Holy Synod of the Moscow Patriarchate of December 26, 1997 he was appointed rector of the Minsk Theological Academy .
By the Resolution of the Academic Council of the Minsk Theological Academy of October 2-4, 2000, the academic title of associate professor of the Minsk Theological Academy was awarded.
Since 2001 - as a member of the editorial board of the collection " Theological Works ".
By the decision of the Holy Synod of December 27, 2007 he was appointed bishop of Rechitsky, vicar of the Gomel diocese . [one]
On February 11, he was appointed bishop in the Holy Assumption Zhirovichi Monastery, and on February 12, 2008 he was ordained bishop of Rechitsa, vicar of the Gomel diocese in the same place. The rank of consecration was headed by Metropolitan of Minsk and Slutsk Filaret, Patriarchal Exarch of All Belarus. [2]
By the decision of the Holy Synod of June 7, 2012 he was appointed Bishop of Turov and Mozyr. [3]
