History
The helicopter was created by Hiller. The first flight took place on January 26, 1963. In the spring of 1963, factory flight tests of the second prototype helicopter prototype began [1] . The Hiller 1100 was designed for the US Army as part of the program for the creation of a (LOH), entered the top three finalists, [1] but lost the competition for the prototypes “ Hughes Cayus ” and “ Bell-Kiowa ” (each of the three companies the finalists of the competition provided five experimental prototypes of helicopters of the corresponding model for army tests), [1] after which it was certified as a civilian helicopter on May 22, 1964. In September 1964, after the purchase of Hiller Helicopters Airlines, Fairchild was renamed the FH-1100 . By the end of 1974, 254 cars were produced, including prototypes. Stanley Hiller in 1973 re-organized the company under the name "Hiller Aviation" and bought the rights to a helicopter. After renaming it “Rogerson-Hiller”, the company produced 5 copies of a helicopter under the name RH-1100B Pegasus from 1983 to 1986. In 1985, one of them was modified into a military version of the RH-1100M Hornet . Currently, the rights to the helicopter belong to the company FH1100 Manufacturing Corporation , formed in the early 2000s for the production of this helicopter. Since 2002, the helicopter is called the FH-1100 FHoenix [2] .
