Geography
Located in the center of the region. It borders in the west with Prague and the Prague-west region , in the south with the Benesov region, in the southeast with the Kolin region, in the east with the Nymburk district, in the northeast with the Mlada Boleslav region and in the north with the Melnik region.

Paleoanthropology
A fragment of the crown of the lower left molar Homo heidelbergensis (300-650 thousand years ago ) was found near the village of Przesletice ( cs: Přezletice ) [1] [2] .
