He graduated in 1962 from the Latvian Medical Academy (now the Stradins Riga University) . In 1965 he defended his thesis for the degree of candidate of medical sciences (at the Latvian Institute of Experimental and Clinical Medicine), in 1971 - doctor of medical sciences (at the Latvian Medical Academy). Since 1976 - professor .
From 1962 to 1972 - junior research fellow at the Latvian Institute of Experimental and Clinical Medicine . Since 1972 - the head of the department of the Riga Stradins University. [one]
Acidogastrometers Juris Leia
Juris Leja, in addition to scientific research in the field of gastroenterology and professorship, is also involved in the design of equipment for intragastric pH metering. He is the author (co-author) of several copyright certificates issued in the USSR for pH-metric probes and their elements. [4] [5] With the active participation of Juris Leah, a series of acidogastrometers was developed and produced (produced) by the Latvian company L / C Legedy [6] : single, multi-seat ST-9, for daily pH metering , for endoscopic pH metering ST -four. [7]
However, due to geopolitical reasons and competition in Europe from the Digitrapper and Poligraf acidogastrometers from Medtronic (which absorbed the Swedish manufacturer of intragastric pH metering equipment Synectics AB Medical) and from the Russian devices in the CIS countries “AGM-03” and “Gastroskan” of the Istok-Sistema company [8] , acid-gastrometer of Yuris Leah were not widely used.
