History
- March 1, 1960 - the opening of the Plant-VTUZ at ZIL on the basis of the MAMI branch.
- 1972 - Plant-VTUZ moved to a new building on Avtozavodskaya street .
- 1988 - The VTUZ Plant at ZIL was renamed the Moscow Automobile Engineering Institute - MASI (VTUZ-ZIL).
- 1996 - the institute was given the status of a university complex, renamed to Moscow State Industrial University.
- 2002 - MGIU entered the group of leaders in terms of the scale and volume of the use of distance learning technologies .
- 2010 - MGIU celebrated its 50th anniversary.
- December 30, 2014 - Order No. 1649 of the Minister of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, D. V. Livanov , was issued on the reorganization of the Moscow State Pedagogical University by joining it to MAMI [2] .
- In the summer of 2015, a competition was held (applications were accepted until 06/22/2015) for filling the vacant posts of the faculty of MAMI, in which part of the faculty of MGIU [3] participates.
- September 1, 2015 - the university ceased to exist and finally joined MAMI as a structural unit.
Rectors
About MGIU
MGIU provides training in 14 engineering, 7 economic and 2 legal specialties. At the same time, more than 25,000 students, 2,500 students of the preparatory department, 500 graduate students and 50 applicants are studying at the university.
The university is taught by 9 academicians, more than 120 doctors of sciences and professors, more than 350 candidates of sciences and associate professors. Leading professors of Moscow State University of Economics take an active part in the work of international symposia and conferences and have repeatedly been invited to lecture abroad.
The following levels of vocational education are implemented at MGIU:
- higher education - undergraduate;
- higher education - specialty, magistracy;
- Higher education - training of highly qualified personnel. In addition, additional professional education is being implemented (second higher education), as well as vocational training;
- professional training;
- professional retraining ;
- training.
One of the main advantages of MGIU is an integrated student learning system. The integrated system organically combines theoretical training and phased professional training at the basic enterprises of the military-industrial complex, auto and aircraft manufacturing, air transportation, etc. (annual summer practice of students 1-3 courses, and full-time, starting from the second semester of 4 courses). The integrated system allows MGIU students to obtain the necessary professional skills, experience and work experience (including in engineering and technical positions) and 100% employment in basic enterprises. In accordance with the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 421 of June 9, 2010 . “ On the state plan for the training of scientists and specialists for organizations of the military-industrial complex for 2011-2015 ” [4] FSBEI HPE “MGIU” carries out targeted student enrollment for enterprises of the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Federal Space Agency .
Full-time students enjoy all the benefits established for students of Russian universities ( scholarships , deferment from military service , reduced fare in public transport, etc.).
The university has six main buildings, as well as the building of the pre-university education department of MGIU in Brateevo (8 Borisovskie Prudy St., building 2). The university does not have a hostel .
At MGIU there are 34 sponsored secondary schools, a driving school, a magistracy, graduate school, doctoral studies and dissertation councils, an editorial and publishing center, an information and computer center, an institute of distance education , an interuniversity educational center for engineering creativity, an educational and scientific center "New Learning Technologies".
The merger of the four institutes, carried out in 2015-2016, gives students the opportunity to use the infrastructure of these universities, for example, recreation facilities, scientific and educational laboratories, dormitories, libraries, etc. [5] .
