The Fujitsu World Cup (富士 通 杯) is an international tournament for the game of go , one of the most important international competitions in this game, which ceased to exist after the 24th draw in 2011 [1] [2] .

Rules
The Fujitsu World Cup is an international go tournament organized by Fujitsu and the Yomiuri Shimbun newspaper. Tournament participants are selected according to the following principle [3] :
- 3 players who won three prizes in the tournament last year;
- 7 players from Japan
- 5 players from China
- 4 players from South Korea
- 2 players from Taiwan
- 1 player from North America ;
- 1 player from South America ;
- 1 player from Europe .
All 24 players first play the preliminary tournament. Then the main tournament is played, according to the playoff system (elimination). 8 players with the best results in the preliminary tournament go directly to the second round of the main, and the remaining 16 play in the first round.
The game goes with Komi 5.5. Time control - 3 hours per game. The first prize is 1,500,000 yen, (142,000 dollars) [3] .
