The champion of the games " Friendship-84 " in singles and the silver medalist in doubles (with Sergey Leonuk).

Honored Master of Sports of the USSR (1991). Three-time winner of the USSR championship in singles (1979, 1981, 1984) and four-time - in the men's doubles (1983, 1985, 1986 - with Sergey Leonyuk, 1988 - with Vladimir Gabrichidze). Twice (in 1982 and 1984 ) headed the ranking of the strongest tennis players of the USSR.

In 1988–91 - coach of the team of masters of CSKA . in 1991–95, coach of the Möln Tennis Club (Germany), since 1995, coach in the Hamburg Tennis Club.

His sons Misha and Alexander are in favor of Germany.
