League history and tournament results
1909
In 1909, the owner of the jewelry store, sports patron Robert Fulda established the famous football tournament - Fulda Cup . Subsequently, one of the oldest football tournaments in Russia, the Fulda Cup, became the championship for the teams of class "A" of the Moscow Football League. The first cup was played before the establishment of the league. The tournament was held in the fall in one round. Participants in the first unofficial Moscow championship were: Sokolniki Sports Club (SKS), Union , British Sports Club (BCS) and Morozovtsy ( Orekhovo Sports Club , CSR) [1] .
According to another version, the calendar of games was compiled in two circles, but many games were canceled - they played who wanted to play with anyone. There were no scores, and with it there was no rigorous rally of the Moscow Championship. A number of teams played only three games each, which affected the writing about the one-round tournament. Having defeated all his rivals (SCS - 3: 2 and 4: 0, “Union” - 12: 1 and 14: 0, CSR - 10: 1, (the 2nd game did not take place)) British Sport Club (BCS) became the first unofficial champion of Moscow.
1910
League base
The successes of the first Moscow football competitions made it necessary to streamline sports life. In 1910, the Moscow Football League began to function. The initiator of the creation of the league was Robert Fedorovich Fulda (founder of the Sokolniki Sports Club). The draft IFF charter was developed with the participation of R. Fulda, V. Sierpinski, R. Wentzeli, K. Bertram and N. Filippov on the basis of the charters of foreign leagues and the St. Petersburg League . In November of the same year, the charter was submitted for approval by the Moscow governor. The Moscow League was proclaimed on December 21, 1909 at a meeting of club representatives, on the same day the city’s presence approved the charter.
In the summer of 1910, the Constituent Assembly of the Moscow Football League was held, in which representatives of most urban societies cultivating football participated. A league committee was elected consisting of: A.P. Moussi - chairman, D.S. Godfrey, R.F. Fulda - comrades chairman, K.G. Bertram - secretary, P.F. Minder - treasurer, E.R. Baines, A.I. Vashka - members of the committee. Initially, the IFF consisted of three founder clubs - SCS, KFS and Union. A little later, ZKS, CSR and BCS were added to the organization. The last club, although it entered the league, did not participate in the first season of the league, limiting itself to unofficial friendly matches in each round [1] . The teams that made up the league were divided into three categories: first, the SKS teams, Union society, Orekhovo Sports Club, Sokolniki football club and ZKS teams. The meeting drew up a calendar of the first official Moscow Championship. The League began to manage urban and suburban football [2] .
The first official city championship
In the first championship, participants were divided into three categories. Five strongest club teams from Moscow and Moscow region participated in the first category tournament: SKS, Zamoskvoretsky Sports Club (ZKS), Sokolniki Football Club (KFS), Union, and Morozovtsy Club. In the second category were the second teams of the SCS, ZKS, "Union", as well as the MCL, "Vega" and "Novogireevo". In the third category, the third SCS, ZKS, Union teams and the second MKL team competed. The first official season opened on August 15, 1910 and lasted a little less than three months. The games were held in a two-round circle system. The team of CSR won in the first group, the second place - SKS, the third - ZKS. In the second group, the first place was taken by MKL.

CFS
The Sokolniki Football Club ( KFS ) or Shiryaevo Pole circle is the first Russian football club founded in 1907 . One of the three founding clubs of the Moscow Football League. The club’s charter was approved on May 21, 1907 . The official founders are Andrei Ivanovich Vashka , a player in the first team of the club, and center forward, student Alexander Filippov . Most of the players of the club were small employees and workers. [10] The club's uniform was a black collar white T-shirt and black panties. [11] In the spring of 1923, the football team of the Dynamo Sports Society was created from the football players of the KFS. The team included: Ivan Artemyev , Mikhail Denisov , Vasily Zhitarev , Nikolai Ignatov , Ivan Lenchikov , Sergey Neverov , Ivan Ovechkin , Peter Ovechkin , Alexander Petrov , Boris Titov , Nikolai Troitsky , Fedor Chulkov , Sergey Shumel . Also Dynamo played some time in the old form of the FSC. [eleven]
SCS
The Sokolniki Sports Club is a Russian football club founded by R.F. Fulda in 1905 (honorary secretary) and the owner of a silk weaving factory A.P. Mussi (club chairman). The first officially registered Moscow football club. One of the three founders of the Moscow Football League. For the club, the first Moscow stadium was built: a grass field with a fence and benches. In 1908, a pavilion was added, which served as a dressing room. In order to increase the area of the field (to comply with international rules) in 1909 the stadium was reconstructed. The club also cultivated football and hockey [1] [2] .
The best result in history - 2nd place in the Fulda Cup ( 1910 ).
CSR
Sports Club Orekhovo (Morozovtsy, CSR). The charter of the club was signed by the governor of the Vladimir province of Sazonov on November 16, 1909 .
The most titled club in the early years of Moscow football.
British Sports Club (BCS)
The British Sport Club (BCS) was created in 1907 . The club charter was approved in the winter of 1910 . One of the largest sports organizations in Moscow in the 1910s , had 170 members [2] .
Initially it was supposed to give the club a name: “English Sport Club”, but in view of the fact that there was already an English Club in Moscow, the founders of the club settled on the name: “British Sport Club”. In the number of full members of the named club can be credited only the British, British nationals.
The club opened its actions with ready-made sports forces. Its members were joined by famous players in the lawn tennis brothers F. and G. Belle, who until recently had no rivals in Moscow, as well as some prominent athletes like Nash, Whitehead, Parker, Jones, Charnock and others.
The club is very well settled at the Nevsky Stearin Plant in Lefortovo, where he had four magnificent lawn tennis courts, and soon opened the best football ground in Moscow. At the same time the club was organized football team, speaking in matches.
In the first year of its existence, the club’s football team occupied a leading position among local teams. In 1910, the British already played against all Moscow football teams and won. In the autumn season of 1910, although the British did not play in the official matches for the cup of the first teams, they won in private matches in turn among all Moscow teams.
In the winter season of 1911, the club strenuously cultivated hockey, although without much success, taking fourth place in the season after Union, the Yacht Club and the Sokolniki Sports Club. The first hockey team of the club has only one victory - over the team of the First Gymnastic Society "Falcon".
The British Sports Club was under the auspices of the English ambassador; Among the members of the club are all the Moscow official representatives of England who are in Moscow: the English consul, the pastor of the Moscow Anglican Church, etc.
Extremely lively club relations with St. Petersburg Englishmen. They annually exchange sports meetings both in football and hockey.
The club chairman is currently D, S. Godfrey, Deputy Chairman of the City of Thornton, Secretary, Mr. Pullman, and Treasurer, Mr. Belle.
For non-sports meetings club English have a British hotel club, which is located in the National Hotel. The work of the energetic secretary of this club, Nash, is a fairly decent library.
Union
The Union Sports Society is one of the oldest Moscow football clubs, established in 1908 [12] . One of the first three founders of the Moscow Football League. He was the Moscow branch of the German club "Union". The club’s first chairman is a stockbroker Minder [1] . The patron of the organization was the landowner Chokol, who provided 3 thousand square meters of land on favorable terms [2] . He was based at his own stadium in Samara Lane (later named “Profintern” and “Burevestnik” [13] ; nowadays the sports complex “ Olympic ” is located at this place) [14] .
Finalist of the 1914 Fulda Cup .
Subsequently, on the basis of the club was created a team of the TJSS (Union of SovtorgSluzhshchik), in 1931 renamed the SKiG (Union of Cooperation and State Trade). Later on, a football team of the Burevestnik sports society was formed on the basis of the SKiG, playing in Group A of the 1938 USSR Championship .
Zamoskvoretsky Sports Club (ZKS)
The Zamoskvoretsky Sports Club (ZKS) was created in 1910 by an Englishman, Benz, a weaving master. Form: two-color shirts - half black, half red. Originally based on Kuznetsk street in Zamoskvorechye . The first team of the club includes five Englishmen and six Russian football players: the Filatov brothers, Antonov, Lebedev, Nikolaev and Valentin Sysoev . In 1910, the club receives a new platform on Bolshaya Kaluzhskaya Street opposite Neskuchny Garden . Approved by the charter, April 11, 1910 is the official opening. At the expense of the Alison family, turf was laid on the field, fences, benches for spectators, and changing rooms for players were built. Already in the 1910 season, the club had five teams, the first of which took part in the Fulda Cup. In total, the club consisted of about 100 people. The most famous ZKS players, members of the Moscow national team: Nikolaev, Vasily Zhitarev , striker Valentin Sysoev , Peter Isakov , defender Sergey Sysoev , Filatov, Vozdvizhensky, Nikitin, Romanov brothers, Varentsov, Babikin [2] [15] .
The club won twice in the Fulda Cup (in 1914 and 1916 ).
MKL
The football team of the Moscow Club of Skiers (MKL) was created in 1910. Based at the club site in Petrovsky Park . The first leaders of the Club are Bulychev and Dubinin [1] . In the tournament of "A" participated since 1911 .
Novogireevo
Novogireevo village appeared in the early 20th century. The owner of the estate in Gireyev, Ivan Torletsky, allocated to his son Alexander not far from the Old Gireyev a plot on the occasion of his maturity. Hence the name of the summer cottage Novogireeva. In the place of Novogireeva, there was a century-old forest earlier and the young owner (in the future, a retired colonel) instructed the workers to build a dacha in the country by cutting openings in the forest. So in Novogireev cottages began to appear. The old manor house began to turn into a modern suburban suburban location. Inhabit Novogireevo began, since 1905. This summer place was different from many other places near Moscow known at that time, in that the village was divided into a network of broad avenues that were illuminated. Along the avenues, drainage ditches were equipped. A common water tower with an electric clock, a pumping station, as well as its own small power plant on liquid fuel were lined up. Thus, in future sites there was an opportunity to equip all the necessary amenities: running water, electricity and even a telephone. Construction work was carried out as soon as possible. They laid a grid of streets called prospectuses - Dumsky, Green, Baronsky, Eleninsky, Ekaterininsky etc. In general, Novogireevo in 1905-1908 was “modern Barvikha”.
Many sites were bought by representatives of the board of the Moscow-Kazan Railway, the Dangauer and Kaiser plant, the Goujon company, and the Kuskovsky chemical plant. Due to the fact that about half of the central plots were bought by employees of various German firms, the new village was colloquially called “German”. In 1908, the own platform Novogireevo was opened a 20-minute train ride from Moscow, located on the outskirts of the village. Trains on the platform, not in the example of today's time, and even more so the subway, stopped on the platform 5-6 times a day at considerable intervals. An important attraction of the village was the horse horse (horse-drawn railway), which ran along the very center of the village, which was also an innovation of the time. Novogireevo village was the first planned and landscaped village near Moscow.
In those days, in the period 1900-1910, Moscow football began to spring in the summer cottages. Friendly matches were played by Malakhovka, Lyubertsy, Reutov, Mytishchi, Nemchinovka, Ostankino, Danilovskaya Manufactory, Ilyinskoe, Serebryany Bor, Izmailovo, Rastorguevo. Formal summer leagues were formed, in which the strongest teams were, boomed throughout Moscow and Moscow region, Bykovo and Mamontovka.
Naturally, in the modern summer cottage Novogireevo a new modern game - foot-ball began to be cultivated. In the village, at first, just a plot of land was allotted, then this field was consecrated, the tribunes, the administrative building and the locker rooms were completed.
So, how started the club Novogireevo. July 19, 1909 Novogireevo lost to Union. On August 2, 1909, a rematch was appointed (there were no tournaments at that time, but separate matches were held, and a special sign was that the losing team, confident of the chance of losing, immediately after the match, set the winners for the rematch). 02.08 on the Novogireevo field, that is, two weeks later, as was customary on the weekend, the rematch Novogireevo-Union took place. Novogireevo again lost (scores of matches are still unknown). The lesions from Union were unsurprising. At that time, Union was already a strong Moscow club team based in Samarsky Pereulok (where the Olympic Stadium currently stands), and Novogireevo was just beginning its first steps in football. And it is worth noting that Novogireevo that year was not a club, but a team, in which players from several clubs gathered for the summer, and sometimes even novices at all. They were united by a place of residence - Novogireevo. 08/06/1909 - Novogireevo is inferior in his field to another dacha team from Serebryany Bor - 0: 4. This is all that is still known for the first year (and perhaps not the first in football) about the Novogireevo club.
Year 1910. In the spring the teams begin to train hard and play friendly matches. This year the Novogireevo club also plays in the spring, therefore it can be concluded that the team is going not only for the summer. However, in 1910 it did not pose a serious threat to rivals. May 24 - Novogireevo in its field is inferior to Union 2: 6, on this day the grand opening of the equipped football field took place - it can be assumed that from that day Novogireevo seriously begins its first steps in Moscow official football, 20.06 - is inferior to Mamontovka 0 : 7, on this day the football field was consecrated and the administrative building was laid. And now the long-awaited victory over the Union - June 27 - again, the team wins 3: 1 in its own field in Novogireevo. 04.07 - Novogireevo goes to Orekhovo - to the future multiple champion of Moscow and loses 1: 6. A week later, in the rematch in his field Novogireevo again concedes, but with a score of 0: 1.
In the autumn of 1910 the first official championship of Moscow was played out. Novogireevsky Sports Club was not in group A (for venerable and famous Moscow teams - SKS, KFS, ZKS and the Orekhovsky CSR club - champion 1910-1913), and in group B - to the second teams of SKS, Union, ZKS, as well as clubs ЛL and Vega. Novogireevo team took the last place, having won one victory and lost the rest of the matches. Who beat Novoireyevo? In the first round Novogireevo defeated the team ZKS-2 1: 0. Of the lesions, it is worth noting the major ones: from MCL (first place in the group) 4: 9; from SKS-2 0: 7; from Union 2: 6: 0: 9; from ZKS-2 2: 7. The goal difference is 16:48. On the Novogireevo field there were 5 matches.
In the second championship of Moscow in 1911, having seriously tuned in and strengthened Novogireevo took first place in class B, 8 matches were won, 1 in a draw and 1 in defeat. The club lost once to Sokolniki Mug of Skiers 0: 1, and major victories: over the OLLS - 8: 0, over the X from Izmailovo - 11: 4, over ChShKS (Chukhlinka-Sheremetevo) - 9: 0. The overall goal difference is 47:13. On the Novogireevo field, 6 matches were played. The championship was held in the autumn, and before that, the League of Kazan Railway was played in the summer, where Novogireevo played with such strong teams as Podosinki - the dacha, the base was made by the players of Zamoskvoretsky Sport Club; Lyubertsy (base - SCL players); Malakhovka (the base is the players of the Union), as well as the teams of Tomilino and Sheremetevo. The results of the summer tournament are still unknown.
In 1912, the Novogireevsky Club made its debut in class A and ranks fifth out of seven, beating the eminent Union and Sokolniki Sports Club. Of the interesting results: twice crushing defeats from the champion from Orekhovo CSR - 0: 7 and 1: 8 and the victory over the SCS - 8: 0. Total club scored 11 points: 5 wins, 1 draw and 6 losses, the goal difference is 27:35. Nothing is known about the summer cottage season of 1912.
The year 1913 brings the first serious successes to Novogireev. In summer, the club wins the League of the Nizhny Novgorod Railroad. Although, frankly, rivals in this league were no match for the composition of the Kazan Railways. In the semifinals Novogireevo beat New Kosino 3: 0, and in the final - Green Farm - 5: 0.
Autumn in the fourth championship of Moscow 1913 - Novogireevsky Sports Club wins second place after the permanent champion of those years CSR from Orekhov. The lag behind CSR in other clubs was huge. At CSR - 22 points, at Novogireeva - 13. The club at the finish went around one point ZKS and SCL (until the last round, these three clubs fought for second place). Novogireev has 5 wins, 3 draws and 4 losses, which indicates a stubborn confrontation with the other clubs and a serious rivalry in the league. This, of course, did not concern the champion of CSR, who won 11 times and lost only once.
In 1914, spring and summer did not foreshadow trouble. In the summer, Novogireevo again won the Nizhny Novgorod League. In the final Saltykovka was beaten (the score is still unknown). And at the end of the summer, the First World War began - the Moscow championship was played according to the cup system - many players went to the front, Zamoskvoretsky Sports Club became the champion, winning only 4 matches on the way to the championship. Novogireevo did not participate in this autumn tournament.
In 1915, the era of Novogireeva begins. The club in the summer becomes the champion of the Nizhny Novgorod League, beating Saltykovka 9: 1 in the final, and in the fall, excel in the Moscow championship. The famous Kannunikov brothers, Boris Chesnokov and others play for the club at that time. Novogireevo is finally passing the Orekhovsky CSR, having won in five games and lost three. True, Novogireevo conceded to the second winner of CSR twice as much as 0: 2 and 1: 6. But the Orekhovsky club no longer represented such a formidable force, as it had been before the war, and he himself lost to the teams that took the places below. The champion's goal difference is also interesting: 10:14 (although, due to the absence of ZKS for the match, we can assume that 13:14, which is still surprising).
Year 1916. Once again, the Nizhny Novgorod League has been won (which is not surprising - the rivals were weak, and Novogireevo shone at that time in Moscow). In the final, this time Nikolskoe beat 7: 1. In the autumn, in the Moscow championship, Novogireevo is only the third (5 wins, 5 losses). Champion - ZKS, second place at the Sokolniki Circle Skiers.
Year 1917. For the first time the championship of Moscow began to be played out even in the spring (KFS-Kolomyagi Cup) in the cup system. In the 1/8 final, Baulino 8: 0 was defeated, but in the quarter finals the club lost to SCL 2: 3. Summer results are not yet known. And in the fall, Novogireevo celebrates success for the second time. Five points ahead of the Society for Physical Education and seven - CSR. All victories have been won, of which 5 are big dry, the goal difference is impressive - 39: 3. In general, leafing through the newspapers of the 20s of the 20th century, nostalgia for the championships of the 17-19 years came through in print. Last but not least, it was obviously connected with the brilliant performances of Novogireev in 1917.
And again, another shock changes the situation on the football fields. After the October Revolution of 1917, summer cottages in Novogireev were nationalized and turned into communal apartments. Accordingly, this affected the fact that many residents of the village, as well as the players of the club began to leave the village.
But this happened gradually, and in the spring of 1918 the club ranked second in Group A (there were two groups of 10 teams in all), probably by inertia, because a new life was coming, many foundations were collapsing, many principles were changing. The first place in the group was won by the Zamoskvorechye Sports Circle. And Novogireevo was ahead of SCL, although it scored the same amount of points with it - 14 (either by the best difference 46: 7 versus 34:17, or by the result of a personal meeting: Novogireevo - SCL 9: 0, in any case - deservedly). In the semifinals, Novogireevo lost to the first place of the second group ZKS 0: 1, which became the spring champion, beating KFS 2: 1 in the final.
In the autumn of 1918 - the club took the 7th place out of eight. The best players leave the club in search of better conditions. In 1917 Boris Chesnokov left, in 1918 Pavel Kanunnikov left.
Before the 1919 season, the Novogireevo club was disbanded. After 3 years, all the other clubs of the Moscow Football League will not, new principles of forming clubs with new names will emerge, Dynamo, Krasnaya Presnya and others will appear.
Big football left Novogireeva. In 1922, the Shot from Novogireeva team still played in the Third Class B Group - but the scale was incomparable.
As for the stadium in Novogireev - it is not yet known for certain where he was in the 10-20s, but in the 40-50s - there was a stadium on today's Novogireevskaya street, 45.
In 1960, the village Novogireevo and the surrounding area became part of Moscow with the expansion of its borders. The settlement was demolished in 1965-1970, in its place a newly constructed modern residential area was retained, while retaining the street grid formed by Novogireev avenues.
Currently, a small stadium is located on Federated Avenue, where amateur clubs play.
SCL
"Sokolniki Circle of Skiers" (SKL) - the club football team was created in 1910
The winner of the spring tournament for the KFS-Kolomyagi Cup in 1917 .
RGO "Falcon"
The founding of the Russian Gymnastics Society football team (one of the oldest sports societies in Russia) was no later than 1897, when the Russkoe Slovo newspaper (July 30, 1897) gave a note about that event. A friendly game was played between the FC RGO Sokol and the Czech Falcon team, the game itself was played in 1910 . The society itself was founded on May 4, 1883, on the basis of the private gymnastics hall opened in 1881 in the Redlich house on Strastnoy Boulevard (house 12).
In early 1922, a group of enthusiasts headed by I. Artemyev , N. Starostin, and K. Kvashinin received permission to demolish several abandoned houses in the Presnenskoye outpost area for the subsequent construction of a stadium here. Concerts were organized to raise funds. In the spring of 1922 stands, fences, changing rooms and the field itself were ready. At the same time, the oldest in Moscow physical culture and sports society is renamed: “Russian Gymnastics Society” (RGO Sokol). At first, in a dispute that occurred in March 1922, I. Artemyev, who came from KF S. (Sokolniki football team) called for the team to be called "Red Presnya". But the numerous athletes who joined him, including the footballers of the RGO Sokol, were categorically opposed, arguing that the RGO had a lot of merit, traditions and experience, and it was the name of the RGO Sokol that should be taken on board. And in the end they stopped on the compromise variant - “Moscow sports club of Krasnopresnensky district” (“MKS”), but a year later the club was renamed “Red Presnya”, as originally proposed by Artemyev. Until 1935, the team performed under the names "Red Presnya", "Pisheviki" and "Promkoperatsiya". From November 14, 1934 - "Spartak".
