Zhalagash ( Kazakh. Zhalagash , formerly Jalagash ) - ( Kazakh. Zhalagash ) - a village (formerly an urban-type settlement) in the Zhalagash district of the Kyzylorda region of Kazakhstan . The administrative center and the only settlement of the Zhalagash rural district. The KATO code is 433630100 [2] .

The village is located 70 km northwest of Kyzylorda , on the right bank of the Syr Darya . There is a railway station in the village.
In the vicinity of the village of Zhalagash there are historical places: Boztai, Yalta, Daumbai, Zhalanashtobe, Shymkorgan and others [3] .
Population
In 1999, the population of the village was 14,486 people (7,229 men and 7,257 women) [4] . According to the 2009 census , 13,479 people lived in the village (6,754 men and 6,725 women) [4] .
As of January 1, 2019, the village population was 12,909 people (6,631 men and 6,278 women) [1] .
