Born in Boston in a family of Irish immigrants. Mullen is best known for her roles in the films Thunder Rock (1942), The Corridor of Mirrors (1948), and The Four Desperate Men (1959). In 1949, she played Miss Marple in the play Murder in the Vicar’s House , based on the novel of the same name by Agatha Christie , in the Playhouse Theater in London. She was married to cameraman John Taylor.
Barbara Mullen died of a heart attack in London on March 9, 1979.
