Biography
Born in Odense , played for the youth team of the local Odense team. During the time spent there, he was the captain of the Danish national team of various ages, was recognized as the best footballer of Denmark under 17 years old.
In March 1997, he signed the first professional contract with PSV , which was coached by Dane Frank Arnesen . Since January 1998, he spent two years in reserve, as a basis he made his debut in March 2000 under Eric Gerets . In the 2001/02 season, he played 24 games for PSV, and the next he became the Dutch champion. In connection with the injury received in the fall of 2004, he lost his place in the first team to Andre Oyer . Nevertheless, together with the team he won both the championship and the Cup of the country.
In the summer of 2005 he moved to Borussia ( Mönchengladbach ). August 27 scored in the game against Schalke 04 . In January 2006, this goal was recognized as the best of the year. In 2007, “Borussia” flew out of the Bundesliga, but the club did not leave Nielsen.
In the summer of 2008 he returned to Denmark, signing a contract with the current champions Aalborg .
Team Career
After successful games in PSV he was called up to the national team in February 2002 by Morten Olson . He took part in the matches of the World Cup , twice substituting. At the 2004 European Championships during the break, he replaced Niklas Jensen , after which he got a place in the first team.
Due to an injury in 2004, he ceased to be called up for the national team, spent three more matches for the team: one in August 2007 and two in the fall of 2008.
