The province is located in the west of the metropolitan area .
The province borders:
- in the north - with the province of Marga Marga ;
- in the east - with the provinces of Chacabuco , Talagante and Maipo ;
- in the south - with the province of Cachapoal ;
- in the west - with the provinces of Valparaiso and San Antonio .
