History

4 times in the 1960-1970s the club took part in European competitions. In the 1967/68 season , Eintracht reached the quarter-finals of the Champions Cup, where he met with Juventus . In the first match in Braunschweig, the German club, having scored three times before the break, won with a score of 3: 2. In the second leg in Turin, the score was not open until the 88th minute, which suited Eintracht, but then a penalty was awarded to the German club, which was realized by defender Giancarlo Bercellino , and this brought Juventus to the semifinals due to more goals clogged in a foreign field. In the 1977/78 season in the first round of the UEFA Cup, the club from Braunschweig managed to knock out Dynamo Kiev from the fight. In the third round, Eintracht twice lost to the future Cup winner Dutch PSV .

From 1993 to 2011, the club out of 18 seasons 15 spent in the third-level league in Germany, only three times rising to the second Bundesliga.

In the 2012/13 season, for three rounds before the season ended in the second Bundesliga, Eintracht secured a return to the first. Especially the club had a good start to the season: in the first 14 matches 10 victories were won with 4 draws. The club was led to success by the 39-year-old coach Torsten Lieberknecht, who completed his career at Eintracht in 2003-2007. A significant contribution was made by the Congolese striker Dominic Kumbela , who became the top scorer of the tournament. In order to enter the Bundesliga, Eintracht needed only 2 seasons: the club managed to get out of the third league only in the 2010/11 season. It is noteworthy that, before the 2012/13 season, the club decided to return to the round emblem, which was used by the team in the 1960-1970s during the period of greatest success, and which was abandoned in diamond-shaped in 1986 shortly after relegation from the Bundesliga.

In the 2013/14 season, Eintracht did not manage to stay in the Bundesliga, despite the opportunity that remained until the last game day. After losing on the road with a 1: 3 score from Hoffenheim, Eintracht finished the season by dropping into the second Bundesliga.

Currently, after failures in the 2017/18 season, Eintracht continues the 2018/19 season already in the third Bundesliga. At the end of this season, the team took 16th place.
