Lars Olsen Skrefsrud ( Norwegian Lars Olsen Skrefsrud ; February 4, 1840 , Feuberg, near Lillehammer , Norway - December 11, 1910 , Benagaria , British India , now the state of Jharkhand ) - Norwegian missionary and linguist, worked in India for the Santals .

In his youth, Skrefsrud spent 3 years in prison and, during his imprisonment, carefully studied the Bible and many foreign languages, deciding to become a missionary.
Together with Hans Peter Berresen, he founded the Norwegian missionary organization, which now grew up in the Northern Evangelical Lutheran Church with 150 thousand believers ( Jharkhand , Bihar , West Bengal , Assam ). The author of one of the first grammars of the Santali language (1873).
The student and follower of Screfsrud as a missionary and linguist was Paul Ulaf Bodding .
